Cancelation & No Shows

You may cancel your appointment without charge up to 24 hours preceding your appointment. If you no-show for your scheduled appointment or cancel with less than 24-hour’s notice, you will be charged 100% of your service fee. No exceptions.

Please note: A credit card or gift card number is required to hold all appointments.

Parties of Two or More

Couple’s appointments or group sessions require special preparation on our part. A deposit of 50% is required to reserve your space. If you cancel with less than 24-hours’ notice, the deposit will not be refunded and you will be charged the remaining balance.

Refunds

We fully stand behind our services and products. Should you find yourself dissatisfied, please contact us at wellness@therakneads.com or call 410-549-7711. We will not issue any refunds; though account credits may be issued at our discretion.

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, we’ll do our best to keep your appointment time as is. Should we need to cancel or postpone any appointments or classes, you will be contacted by phone, text, or email to reschedule as soon as possible. If you are unable to make your appointment due to inclement weather, please try to call us an let us know as soon as you can.

Appointment Reminders

As a courtesy, we do offer phone, text and/or email reminders in advance.  Please make sure you are actively enrolled to do so with your preference.  If you need any help enrolling, our front desk staff will be happy to assist you.

Gratuity Guide

As commission-based professionals, gratuity is never required but always sincerely appreciated. Please see our suggested ranges below. Thank you for your generosity.

30 minutes - $10 - $15

60 minutes - $20 - $25

90 minutes - $25 - $35

120 minutes - $40 - $50

P.S. We reduce paper waste by not using gratuity envelopes. Please leave gratuity either directly with your therapist or with the front desk associate.

Gift cards & Account Credits

When using a gift card to pay for services or products, we cannot apply discounts to your final bill due to the high probability the gift card was already purchased with a discount. Thank you for understanding. Physical gift cards are valid for five years after date of purchase. One year after the date of purchase, all gift cards will revert back to the dollar amount value. Account credits and payments will expire one year from date of purchase.

Prices,discounts, and specials

We reserve the right to update and change prices, current specials and discounts without notice unless specific dates and details are otherwise stated. However, we do our best to keep you updated through office postings, social media, email and our website.

TheraKneads wants you and all others in our center to experience a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Please respect everyone’s relaxation time and turn off cell phones and other devices during your session that could potentially cause disruption. Thank you for your consideration.

FAQs

What time should I arrive for my appointment?

Your appointment time is when your massage should be beginning. In order to ensure your full time, please plan to arrive at least ten minutes before your appointment.

We understand life can throw in a twist or turn at the last minute. If you are running a few minutes behind, please give us a call to let us know you are on your way.

Is it customary to tip the massage therapist?

As commission-based professionals, gratuity is not required but always sincerely appreciated. We accept cash tips, or we can add the tip to your credit card. Please see the gratuity guide above for more guidance.

I’ve heard “no pain, no gain.” Is that true?

Massage does not have to be painful to be effective. In fact, if the pressure is too much, your body may automatically tense up, which will not allow your massage therapist to adequately treat you. If your therapist is going too deep, let them know at that time so the pressure can be adjusted. Don’t wait until your next massage to say that your prior massage was not at the pressure you liked.

When should I make my next appointment?

We highly recommend that you reserve your next appointment(s) prior to leaving the center.  We love to be able to guarantee you the time and day that works best with your schedule. Some therapists also have a tendency to book up quickly, so it is best to reserve your appointment in advance.

Does my health insurance cover massage?

Some health insurance companies do reimburse for massage. Occasionally healthcare savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, cafeteria plans or company wellness plans may also reimburse for massage. Check with your provider to see if massage is covered and if anything is required on your part. If your provider approves the massage, you would pay us for the massage, and we would give you an invoice to submit to your provider.

Are there some instances in which I should not receive a massage?

There are several instances in which we cannot perform a massage or use certain techniques. Answering questions truthfully during your written and verbal intake will help us to provide you with a safe massage. Some contraindications to massage include, but are not limited to:

- If you feel like you are sick or may soon become sick (fighting an infection plus a massage can be too much on your body. You could also spread germs to your massage therapist).

-If you are intoxicated or on drugs, as this can be very dangerous.

- Right after surgery. Generally, we recommend waiting 4-6 weeks after surgery. In some cases, a prescription from your doctor may be necessary.

- If you have a complicated pregnancy (or have not yet reached the second trimester).

- If you have kidney/liver disease.

- If you have heart failure.

- If you have cancer and are currently undergoing radiation/chemotherapy.

-If you have severe edema (swelling) in any of your limbs.

-If you have a blood clot.

-If you’re unsure. Please call us to discuss your specific circumstances before your appointment if you have any questions or concerns.

Additional Notes:

-State law requires that you must remain covered/draped during the massage.

-Massage therapists do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. You need to consult with your doctor.

-If you are diabetic, check your blood glucose after a massage, as your blood sugar may drop.

-Don’t plan on donating blood the same day as a massage.

- If you drink alcohol after your massage, you may find that you will feel the effects of alcohol more quickly with less amount of alcohol.
